POSITION: Immigrant Rights Fellow
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Martinez Aguilasocho & Lynch, A Professional Law Corporation advocates for the rights of farmworkers, farmworker families and the Latino community in California, across the U.S., and internationally. We are seeking a candidate for a new Immigrant Rights Fellowship. The Immigrant Rights Fellow is a one-year attorney position that will lead and oversee the creation and implementation of MA&L’s new immigration practice area. This position will be based in Bakersfield, CA and is a full-time exempt position. MA&L seeks an individual who is fluent in Spanish with two or more years experience in immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Immigration Court, and Board of Immigration Appeals that can help the firm, in collaboration with partners, develop a thriving immigration practice in Kern County.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed attorney in good standing with two or more years of general immigration law and removal defense experience and strong knowledge of immigration remedies required; and strong communication skills, both oral and written in English and Spanish.
WORK HOURS: Full-time, salaried exempt.
COMPENSATION: Minimum $65,000 starting salary; compensation commensurate with experience; benefits include medical, dental, vision, pension,15 paid holidays per year.
STARTING DATE: Variable.
